Exercise 1 - Coloring the collection by using theory
I used the deep indigo and brown as my major colors in this collection. These two colors are complementary colors (higher the chroma of blue and orange becomes deep indigo and brown) so match with each other. Except these two major colors, i also changed the chroma/ value of them to create another colors making the collection more variety..like khaki and sky blue...This is following principle of resemblance.
Orange was used in every set of garment, but in a tiny proportion only. This was what Robert said - the "second lover" of the major color. Although small areas, but sharp and contrasting, makes the whole collection interesting.

*** (please ignore this post and refer to improved analysis in later posts)
Designer used a red-tone gray as the major color of this collection. Every set of garment was using different layer of light and soft chiffon to create different value of red gray (more layers --> higher "weight" of color). This is what the principle of resemblance states - same hue, just lighter or darker colors can make the family more harmonize.
Again, designer tried to add some contrast elements to make the collection not boring. This time he used a relatively "harder" knit fabric with newspaper prints, to contrast with soft chiffons. The "newspaper" seems using black and white. But if we look carefully, in fact they are deep red-gray and very light red-gray. This can maintain the harmony relationship of the whole color family.

Brand chosen - CHRISTIAN DIOR
We are quite interesting in using "DIOR" as our target in this project, so start trying to finding information about this brand.
Christian Dior have a relatively long history. The mature brand background is worth for us to study. Color changes or style changes may because of some historical factors like World war or, not so seriously, social factors like a well known singer may influence the popularity of Dior styles.
Christian Dior is the brand that gives us fresh colors each seasons.
It's always colorful, but still keep elegance and attractive. Colors combinations not so much complicated like Vivienne Westwood. Dior colors seems following some rules and orders makes first color learners easy to understand.

Daily life study 1
Today Robert mentioned MTR station colors... so after lesson when i went home by MTR, i couldn't stop to think about color analysis ^_^
First thing draws my attention is the yellow handrail. The yellow is high chorma results very brightness and outstanding even through the MTR is very crowned.
The red rows of chairs go to the same case. High chorma aggressive color draws passengers' attention easily.
The main color of the MTR interior environment is blue.
the wall is very very low value and low chorma light blue;
and for the ground, they got two blues match together. Design used two close hue blue but different value to create a artistic but harmony enviroment.
It's a great contrast with the sharp yellow and red handrails and chairs due to different function of these objects.
