Collections Analaysis - Fall 2000 RTW

Designer used a red-tone gray as the major color of this collection. Every set of garment was using different layer of light and soft chiffon to create different value of red gray (more layers --> higher "weight" of color). This is what the principle of resemblance states - same hue, just lighter or darker colors can make the family more harmonize.

Again, designer tried to add some contrast elements to make the collection not boring. This time he used a relatively "harder" knit fabric with newspaper prints, to contrast with soft chiffons. The "newspaper" seems using black and white. But if we look carefully, in fact they are deep red-gray and very light red-gray. This can maintain the harmony relationship of the whole color family.
